Butlers Tray Course

Maximum Five students are taught in a group during this course.
Duration: 1 Day
Course hours will run from 9:00am-5:00pm (including approx half an hour for lunch).
Price includes all required materials, required tools and a light lunch and drinks.
Learn how to use basic woodworking tools on our one day Butlers Tray course. A great foundation course for anyone looking to embark on the woodworking & Laser engraving journey. You will Be guided through the basic woodworking hand tools and demonstrated on how to prep timber for use, from rough saw, ripped and planed, you will be shown how to use biscuit joinery to join planks together and you will work with our designer to create a bespoke laser engraved design to enhance your Butlers Tray that can be taken home and used to house your favourite bottles of wine, turn into a planer or whatever takes your fancy.
What you will learn
Begin your day by choosing which design you will personalise. You will then be shown a step-by-step guide on how to prepare the timber components necessary for the product. You will learn about measuring and marking and will then learn how to use basic jointing methods to construct your crate.
Everything you need to make and complete your Fishmonger crate will be supplied.

You will start your day with a welcome talk, including a hot drink, health and safety brief and a breakdown and review of the equipment you will be using.
This is a 'hands-on' course, each student being able to work at their own pace. The tutor will be able to demonstrate and explain the techniques to the group as a whole and individuals as required.
The minimum age is 14 years old and anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the course and must not be left unattended during class hours.
